Business Immigration Program
The BIP is one of seven Federal Economic Immigration classes and is included under CIC’s Strategic Objective 1: Migration of permanent and temporary residents that strengthen Canada’s economy.
Self Employed Class
A self-employed person is a foreign national who has relevant experience and has the intention and ability to be self-employed in Canada.
Provincial Nominee Program
This program is for workers who: have the skills, education and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory want to live in that province, and want to become permanent residents of Canada.
Federal Skilled Worker Class
The FSWC is prescribed as a class of persons who are skilled workers, who may become permanent residents on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada, and who intend to reside in a province other than Quebec.
Federal Skilled Trades Class
The FSTC is prescribed as a class of people who meet all of the following criteria: Candidates qualified in a skilled trade may become permanent residents on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada and intend to reside in a province other than Quebec.
Express Entry
The application process for skilled immigrants who want to settle in Canada permanently and take part in the Canadian economy. Express Entry is an online system that manages applications for permanent residence from skilled workers.
International Mobility Program
Under IMP, the intra-company category permits international companies to temporarily transfer qualified employees to Canada for the purpose of improving management effectiveness, expanding Canadian exports, and enhancing competitiveness in overseas markets.
Family Class Sponsorship
Under the family class, the following family members can be sponsored: spouse, common-law or conjugal partner; dependent child (including adopted child); parents; grandparents; a sibling, nephew/niece, or grandchild under 18 years who is unmarried and whose parents are deceased.
